Tattoos Training

Basics of Tattoo Training

Tattoo When this particular word comes in anyone's mind, various thoughts start popping. Because of the high popularity of Tattoos and the great potential in income, a huge number of people want to become a tattoo artist these days. Most of them make the clear rookie mistake of buying a Tattoo learning kit and practicing it on their friends. This is plain dangerous. The art of Tattooing is much more than just ordering a tattoo kit through a tattoo magazine, or website, or even your friends allowing you to start experimental tattoos on them. Tattooing is an ancient art form, with a set of rules that must be understood & completely followed if you want to be a successful tattoo artist. If you are really serious and determined to become a tattoo artist, what you first and foremostly need is to have patience. Learning the art of tattooing will require long time persistence & perseverance so, be prepared.

The first and the main important thing you must have is the raw talent. For someone who can’t draw or can’t color inside the lines, Tattooing is going to be a really tough task. This kind of candidate will be really difficult to teach. Learning how to become a tattoo artist isn't easy. And it isn't for everyone. If you don't have some raw artistic talent, then it probably isn't the job for you. But if you're artistic side is one of your strongest, then you just might have what it takes.

The next important aspect is to sharpen your raw talent and build it into a skill. This kind of skill development can come from opting to take fine art classes, working with an artist, learning techniques from books, or all of the above. On top of that, you need to practice, practice, & practice. This enables you to have an understanding of form and colour technology. The positive side is that tattooing is an art that can be learned without formal training , and contrary to popular opinion, there are still a few tattooing artists out there who are willing to take on an apprentice and teach an eager student how to become a tattoo artist. Once you're a competent artist on paper, you'll need to build a portfolio. A portfolio is a case or binder containing examples of your art, to show your different skills.

The next major thing is to look out for the best apprenticeship. What you really need now is that right person who can guide you on how to go about tattooing and sketching and inking. An apprentice is someone who learns a skill from someone else already skilled in the job. Get started once you're with a master from whom you can truly learn and not just someone offering apprenticeships to make money. Max is the best person to go out for as his aim is NOT to make money but to spread the talent and inspire the new talent in the field of Tattooing.

Once you are an apprentice, you will learn many skills from your teacher Max, most of which have nothing to do with actual drawing. You will learn how to safely clean your equipment, how to operate a tattoo machine, how to adjust your power supply, how to protect yourself and your clients from any sort of disease, and last but certainly not the least - how to correctly apply a tattoo. This can take many months or even years to learn completely. During your time as an apprentice with Max, you will continue to practice and work on your own drawing skills. You are not limited to only gaining knowledge from him - you may also have the opportunity to spend time learning from other artists as well. Getting tattooed is a good way to watch and learn the techniques of other master tattoo artists.
No matter how long you apprentice or how long you tattoo, you never know it all. There is always more to learn, new techniques to adopt, new ways to enhance what has already been done. Never be satisfied with mediocrity, and never allow yourself to become egotistical. Humility and Passion towards your skill will surely take you places.
